Today was our first day back in school, and I have to admit I was a little nervous as I waited for my students to come in. Over Christmas break, I was fortunate enough to travel a bit and get out of Ankara for a few weeks. It was a much needed break, but I was definitely glad to be back at school today. Last night I could hardly sleep. It felt much like the night before the very first day of school. I thought to myself, , 'How am I going to entertain eighteen fourth graders all day?!' I even told a colleague this morning that I didn't know if I even remembered how to teach. It was an eerie feeling to say the least. I was alas put to rest as soon as my students ran in excitedly telling me about their Winter Break adventures at 8:30 sharp. It was so good to see their smiling faces first thing this morning. Yep, I still love my job. :)
I will post a few pictures from my little Christmas vacation this weekend. I am definitely thankful for the opportunity to travel while I am here and for the great friends I have made to experience it all with.
This week please keep our school in your prayers as we are trying to fill many teaching positions for next year. Also, keep our students and teachers in mind as we are all adjusting back to the school schedule after our Winter Break.
