Here comes the snow, do do do do...

It has been snowing like crazy this week, and I am loving every minute of it! It has been hard to keep the kiddos focused in class because it literally looks like Narnia outside of my classroom window. We aren't complaining though at all. We have just finished reading The Magician's Nephew, and last week we began The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, so I think it is pretty perfect. So far through reading these books, my students have been able to make a lot of connections between the books and creation, man, and sin. I was not aware of this earlier, but these books reference Turkey several times. For instance, Aslan is lion in Turkish. It is also our school mascot. In The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe,  Turkish delight also represents sin. The more you have, the more you want to eat. This "Turkish Delight" has no connection at all to the title of my blog, however. Needless to say, using the Narnia books to share truth with my students has proved to be a great resource. Apparently the movie The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was coming on television this weekend. Many of my students, Muslim and Christians alike, were planning to watch it. I cannot wait to see what other connections they make to Christ and the gospel.

It is hard to believe that this school year is officially half way over. Thinking about my kids moving onto fifth grade already makes me tear up a little it. It also gives me a certain sense of urgency in taking more and more opportunities to share truth with them while I still have them in my classroom.

Please be in prayer for my class as we received a new student this week. He is from Korea. Also, continue to be in prayer for my administration as they are interviewing candidates to fill our open teaching positions.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support... may God be glorified and made known through it all.
